During a recent interview, Machapa confirmed that he was ready to put his country on the map by representing his country in the South African league.

“I am ready to prove that my country is the best in Southern African football and I will make sure that I fly my country's flag high. We have a better coach in the PSL and we are aiming to be champions at the end of the upcoming season,” he said.

Machapa saw little action under Gordon Igesund who praised him as a great winger when he arrived at Dube Birds. He was signed from Zimbabwean giants Caps United a season ago.

Swallows struggled for the better part of last season under the tutelage of the German international coach Zobel Reiner before he was relieved of his duties.
