The drama was shot in Gweru, written, produced and directed by Steven Martin Musowe under his Musowe Platinum Productions in partnership with Base 3 Graphic Studio.
Musowe, who produced his debut drama titled Kurauone (Grow up and see) in 2001, finally got Macheso’s attention after a series of meetings to persuade the sungura maestro.
Macheso said he was impressed by Musowe’s creativity after he presented Kurauone to him.
“In the arts industry we have guitarists, singers and those into drama production as well. I have come across young talented guys who are into drama. If these young guys are given enough support, they will lift the flag of the country high. Such can be said about Steven Musowe.
“Many Zimbabweans have watched Nigerian African movies and Musowe is in the same league,” said Macheso.
The prolific sungura hitmaker also promised his fans to see more quality videos in the near future as he will be working with Musowe.
Though the drama has not yet seen the green light on the small screen – ZBC-TV – it is selling like hot cakes in Harare. It stars Weakin Muza as Fidelis, who is popular for his role in Kurauone alongside Knox, real name Kebert Ndlovu, who also starred in Zvinengozi (Bad omen).
