A new poetry project called "Poetry And" was last week launched in the capital at The Mannenberg.

The project is the brainchild of Barbara Anderson will see local and International poets interacting with the audience using a variety of music genres. The poets will be backed by a band called Fhilloh that play acoustic, rock, folk and R'n'B depending on the theme of the day.

In an interview with Showbiz last week, Anderson said the project was aimed at promoting upcoming poets in the arts industry.

“The project looks into the dynamics of poetry with music where every month, six poets and a live band would be featured to entertain poetry lovers. We are looking forward to grooming poets from different backgrounds who need to showcase their talent in poetry,” she said.

“We have so far hosted three shows and many more are on the way to promote upcoming poets who need support. I want to urge the public to support me to ensure that the project would be success.”

She added that the project would cement the existing relationships between poets and their audiences giving the opportunity for them to express their views at the same time providing entertainment.

Some of the performing acts to be featured would include the dazzling act of the upcoming but talented Flo, PSP, D-Bloc, Aerosol, Breeze, Upmost, Fun day and Phar I.
