The tapestry of life

It continually amazes me when I look back on our lives and observe how life’s journey has been so incredibly interwoven and structured as to lead us through many valleys, mountains and rivers.

We have all made choices which have resulted in the tapestry of our lives being shaped by our decisions and choices.

It is in our nature to always want to blame another person for the hurts and failures we have encounter. The reality is no matter how much we can blame the past and others we cannot undo what has been done. There is a bridge that leads away from the past and leads you onto a freedom and peace of your own choice.

Jesus Christ is that bridge He has established a way for you to walk a new road giving Him your past and pressing on to a higher purpose in Him.

If we only had understanding of the damage the past causes in our lives we would purpose to give it to Christ and move on to the Life He is offering us. Hatred, bitterness, anger, jealousy are the cancers that eat into us and destroy us. It never affects the other people, it is your problem.

It is only as we truly come into a full understanding of what it means to be “Born again”, the exchanged life in Christ that we enter into the school of Christ learning how to be changed into His character and likeness. Learning it is not about me but about Him. It is not what I have done but who He is and what He has done.

If we could truly comprehend the meaning of the cross, the work accomplished at Calvary and the life of His resurrection, that when Christ is our life all He has done is ours He has sent His Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and to enable us to grow into the fullness of Christ as we submit and learn of Him.

It surely makes us wonder why we want to cling to the past, why do we wear our past like a badge to give us recognition for all the bad things that happened, is it sympathy we are looking for? It appears the worse our past the better our testimony. Has it not dawned on us yet, it is not about our testimony it is His testimony.

They overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word His testimony at Calvary, but we always think it is about our testimony. Our testimony died with us when we died and our new life in Christ is His testimony.
