
They were arrested as they returned from a membership briefing in Vicvtoria Falls. Ncube, an Industry and Commerce minister in the GNU was arrested together with MDC secretary general Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga and Moses Mzila Ndlovu, ministers of Regional Intergration and National Healing respectively.
They are held at Hwange Police Station. Police have not yet preferred any charge against them.
Also arrested is the MDC treasurer general Paul Themba-Nyathi, national organising secretary Qhubani Moyo, secretary for information and publicity Nhlanhla Dube, national secretary for recruitment Rita Ndlovu, Matabeleland North chairman Jealous Sansole, Youth Assembly secretary general Discent Collins-Bajila and several other top party officials and members of the district executive together with ordinary card-carrying members, information officer Gifford Sibanda said.
Misihairabwi-Mushonga said Sunday night they were still held under unclear charges. "They say there is a police signal to keep us here," she said.
But a couple of hours later, they were released without charge. Some policemen even apologized for the arrests.
