The vandals descended on the building on Tuesday night and broke window panes before scraping off the party logo and name from the walls.
The building, owned by the Kidd family, is located about 500 metres from the venue of the festival.
Birgit Kidd, also the MDC’s Manicaland Provincial Secretary for Policy and Research, said she suspected the attack was designed to prevent festival revellers from seeing the party’s name, logo and slogans.
“It appears the culprits were many because they used sharp objects to scrap the walls,” she said.
“In some instances they used white pant to rub the words. Some even climbed the roof to rub the inscriptions. This is really desperation.”
However, Kidd said the party will not be intimidated by the hooligans and will ensure the signage is in place again for the festival which ends today.
“Our guys have already started decorating the building with the happy face of our president, Morgan Tsvangirai,” she said.
“We are also going to decorate the building with slogans.”
The family has lodged a formal police report about the incident.
Zanu (PF) in the past had threatened to invade the building and the family’s sawmill for political reasons, Kidd said.
