The awards are set to take place in London on October 21.

“I have been nominated for the Best Up-Coming Actress on ZAFAA Awards 2011. So I am asking you all my friends to vote for me,” said Karonga.

Glo Diamond, the Public relations Executive of the African Film Festival Award, congratulated Karonga’s achievement and further urged Zimbabweans to support her.

However, her nomination has been causing confusion amongst voters since Karonga has been “mistakenly” placed in the male category against Cameroon’s Nchifor Valery and Ghana’s James Gardner.

The Best Up-Coming Female categories has another Zimbabwean Julie Boton, Camerron’s Ruth Nkweti, Nigeria’s Vanessa Adekola and Ghana’s Selasse Ibrahim.
