In a document made available to this newspaper, the United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees revealed that Zimbabwe stood among the 25 nationalities registering a decline in 2010.
"The 25 nationalities registering a decline in 2010 submitted a total of 42 400 claims less than in 2009," the Report said.
The UNHCR also revealed that most asylum seekers were going to South Africa despite the recent decision by the Pretoria regime to send them back.
In 2009, Zimbabwe topped the scale of asylum seekers to the UK with 7 420 cases.
