“CCDZ’s role is to provide a platform where people exchange and revisit what they contributed in the constitution -making process. They are also reminded that it is the duty of the people to write a people-driven constitution. They have the right to vote ‘NO’ should the referendum not be reflective of their input during the outreach meetings,” said a CCDZ official at a recent road show in Dombotombo.

Hundreds of T-Shirts and reading material were distributed, reminding people about the need to demand a free and fair election.

Children interviewed said they wanted free education, right to food, shelter, clothing and medication while women indicated that they would not accept a constitution which did not give them equal opportunities with men. They also demanded access to free medical care at hospitals and clinics when expecting baby delivery.

It was interesting to witness supporters of different political parties, war veterans and state security agents tussling for the T-Shirts which called for free and fair constitution making and elections.
