Jail sentence a warning

EDITOR - Two interesting events happened within the judiciary system in the country over the past week which should serve as a warning to Zanu (PF) zealots.

A Zanu (PF) mob commander, Gilbert Mavhenyengwa, was slapped with a 20 year jail term by a Masvingo magistrate while in Gweru four Zanu (PF) members were jailed for 18 years each by a High Court. All their crimes were committed against MDC members.

The message that these two sentences send is that Zanu (PF) members should stop their acts of violence against innocent people as they will have to pay for it in the end.

Many Zanu (PF) supporters are on a rampage in the countryside with the self- assurance that nothing will ever happen to them. In Harare, Zanu (PF) youths have invaded commuter bus ranks and are terrorising innocent travellers and kombi bus crews.

But Zanu (PF) thugs should know that this will one day come to an end and the long arm of the law will catch up with them.

Zanu (PF) youths should know that when the wheels of justice start to function, politicians will be nowhere to help you. Your families will suffer when you are locked up. The Zanu (PF) youths should seriously consider the crimes that they are being forced to perform by their leaders and see where they will end up. – AGRIPPA ZVOMUYA, Harare
