Jambo’s confidence back

After regaining the confidence of the Kaizer Chiefs technical team, Zimbabwe left back, Zhaimu Jambo, is looking forward to some regular game time.

Jambo’s prospects received a major boost during Chiefs’ last encounter, a one-all draw against Ajax Cape Town, where he kept Keegan Ritchie on the bench. This ended almost a season in the cold after injuries and a loss of form combined to stunt his progress.

The 23-year-old says he is looking forward to making the most out of the faith invested in him by Coach Vladimir Vermozovic.

“Last season is gone and when the new campaign kicked off I did say to myself that I was starting on a clean state, I am not thinking about the fact that I did not play that much last season. I had a good pre-season and I feel that things are looking positive for me,” he said.

Jambo acknowledged the competition posed by rising star Ritchie.

“I know that I have to work very hard if I want to play because I am competing with an accomplished player in the form of Keegan Ritchie for the left back slot, I believe the competition between us is very healthy and good for the team.”
