However, his story of why he wanted to see me was evidently a mask for the real reason. What was his real motive? I never went to town and the matter still remains unsettled.
I also met a scared elderly believer who at 75-years-old had only 30% sight and was being encouraged to go for an operation on his eyes.
The day before my encounter I read this in a book: “Those who have the true fear of God do not have to fear anything on the earth because the Lord dwells in the midst of His people and He is greater than all. As we behold Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, we will not fear. If we fear it is because we are not beholding Him.”
The day after my encounter I read Oswald Chambers “My Utmost for His Highest” daily reading which said: “Jesus said, ‘Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to
you.’ (John 14:27) This is a peace which comes from looking into the face of Jesus Christ and realising His undisturbedness. Look to Him and receive His peace. His peace is the proof that you are right with God because you are at liberty to turn your mind to Him. If you are not right with God, you can never turn your mind anywhere but yourself. If you allow anything to hide the face of Jesus Christ from you, you are either disturbed or you have a false security. We get disturbed because we have
not been considering Him. When one confers with Jesus Christ the perplexity goes, because He has no perplexity, and our only concern is to abide in Him. Lay it all out before Him and in the face of fear, difficulty, bereavement and sorrow, hear Him say ‘Let not your heart be troubled.’”
That helped me and may it help you if you are in need. – Faith Matters Editorial Team. Please feel free to contact us: editor.faithmatters@gmail.com
