Mantongande sings for charity

Nightingale Mantongande has done it again. Her new album, entitled Kuyonyakaza, is dedicated to Aids orphans in her home area of Lupane and will be launched in London and South Africa on Saturday. Mantongande and her band The Melodies of Grace will appear live at the London event. .

Part of the proceeds of the album will go towards supporting the Brethren in Christ Church Youth HIV Awareness Programme in Zimbabwe and aids orphans in Lupane.

“I recorded this album while reflecting on the plight of all Aids Orphans . I want God to use me to create a change in their lives as he heals their broken hearts,” said Mantongande. “As a gospel music singer I am a servant of God who brings melodies of grace and good tidings to the community . My work in the community is designed to heal the broken hearted and bring them closer to Christ.”

Mantongande encouraged other musicians to follow suite and give something back to the communities who made them what they are.

Kuyonyakaza is her third album after Behold the Lamb of God and Ngihamba Ngegunya “ I walk with confidence and pride”. These albums are currently enjoying good air play in Zimbabwe.

“ We are currently negotiating with a big South African Distributor and the deal may be completed in the next few days,” said Ngoyama Music Manager Million Moyo, who is handling the album.

Mantongande will feature at the Zimbabwe International Gospel Music Association live recorded concert in Leicester on 28 October, 10 Frog Island, Leicester, LE3 5AG from 1830hrs.

“We are currently negotiating with Zimbabwe and South African Music Promoters for live shows next year. Combined promotional tours with other UK based Gospel Musicians are being organized for 2012,” he said. – www.ngonyama.com
