The government’s recent shopping trip saw ministers getting luxury Range Rover vehicles that are deemed to have cost the treasury at least US$20 million dollars.

Thus far the government and the concerned political parties have been deafeningly silent on the matter.

However, on Thursday the Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai led party that prides itself in being “a party of excellence,” offered to give more details into the purchasing of vehicles that has been described by the public as outrageous.

“The issue of the reports that came in the papers about the so-called luxurygate is an issue that has been discussed by our party at the very senior level at the Standing party level and a minister from our party is going to issue a comprehensive statement with facts and figures regarding the allegations that are coming from the papers,” said the MDC spokesperson, Douglas Mwonzora.
