According to the report by Youth in Development, the girls aged between 10 and 21, are so impoverished that they cannot afford sanitary pads which cost about US$1 a packet.
Primrose Faku, the leader of youth in Development said: “We conducted research in the area and our findings show that the situation is really bad for the girls. We are in the process of engaging partners like SAFAIDS to ensure that some urgent interventions are made in the community,” Faku added.
