Zanu youths bussed out

Fear has gripped residents of this farming town as dozens of Zanu (PF) youths boarded a bus at the war veterans’ provincial offices on Monday bound for an undisclosed mission out of town.

The youths left town in a metallic blue Toyota Hiace minibus and several private cars in the afternoon.

“Everyone was disturbed by the departure of the youths who carried huge bags of luggage with them, suggesting they were going on a long mission. Zanu (PF) is on record for bussing in thugs to cause havoc among suspected MDC supporters around the country,” said a concerned local.

Other residents linked the move with the recent increase in violence that saw a fight break out at the Harare Central Police Bus Terminus on Monday.

“This is a cause for concern,” said one man who watched the convoy leave town.

Residents have called on the JOMIC to investigate the en-masse movements of Zanu (PF) youths around the country.
