Zim music on the airwaves

Zambian free-to-air channel, Africa Unite, has signed a deal with Gramma Records to air Zimbabwean music across Africa.

In an interview with The Zimbabwean last week, Victor Chirongoma, Gramma Marketing Executive said: “The deal will see the company’s music aired on the channel therefore marketing it.”

Chirongoma added that the company had already supplied a number of DVD collections for some of the music from musicians such as Tongai Moyo, Gift Amuli and Joseph Garakara.

“We clinched the deal last month and the channel is already airing the Zimbabwean music. I would like to confirm that Zimbabweans across Africa are watching the DVDs and we are receiving positive feedback,” he said.

“Our focus is now promoting Zimbabwean music as a brand so that it will be known in southern Africa,” explained Chirongoma.
