The business people met with city fathers and other stakeholders at a business community expectations meeting held at the council chambers on Thursday.
“The business community asked council not to increase the budget from the $5.7
million dollars adopted last year. Some of them even requested a lowered budget as they were still finding their feet following the economic downturn. We will look into the request as a council, it is not possible to cut down on the budget as the council would fail to deliver services,” said Mayor Farai Nyandoro.
A realistic and affordable budget would help business people to run viable projects and also lure new investors to the town.
