Chiweshe left Dynamos before the start of the current season after sharp differences with the team management and joined the great trek to Botswana where he joined Gaborone United.

He had humiliated the Botswana outfit 4-0 in Harare in a champions league tie while he was still in charge of Dynamos.

Botswana has a liking for Zimbabwean coaches as Madinda Ndlovu who was sacked from the Warriors job after a spate of dreadful results has also found his home there. Shabanie Mine coach Luke Masomere was also there while Rahman Gumbo is remembered for winning the league title with Centre Chiefs last season before he was lured to come back home and coach FC Platinum.

Chiweshe believes he can also win the league title in his first season with Gaborone United. "I know it’s a challenge because there are lot of expectations from the team and the supporters. It will not be easy but I am confident I can win the league title. There are still a lot of games to be played but I believe that it can happen. The team is now gelling together and I like the attitude of the players," he said.
