Meanwhile in yet another case in Harare, One ZINASU student leader, Welcome Zimuto and five civic society activists, Munyaradzi Gwisai, Hopewell Gumbo, Antoneta Choto, Tatenda Mombeyarara and Edson Chakuma appeared before a Harare Regional Magistrate, today the 26th of October facing charges of Conspiracy to commit public violence as defined in section 188 as read with section 36 of the Criminal Law (codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23] stemming from a members’ meeting they had on February 19. The Magistrate ruled that the case will continue on the 2nd of November because the state witness failed to turn up.
The Students Solidarity Trust is concerned by the lackadaisical approach the state is taking in resolving these cases. Justice delayed is Justice denied and the state is therefore urged to ensure that cases are concluded on time.
