Division One league race heads for photo-finish

The Northern Division One league race heads for a photo-finish with Harare City Council, Dstv, former Premier League side Black Rhinos and Mwana Africa all with a chance of getting promotion into the topflight league.

Harare City have accumulated 48 points with Dstv just behind them on 47 points, while Black Rhinos and Mwana Africa are tied on 46 points setting the stage for one of the most intriguing conclusions to the second tier league.

All the matches involving the title-chasing clubs and those fighting relegation have been fixed for today and will kick off at the same time in a bid to avoid match fixing.

Harare City council under the guidance of Big Boy Mawiwi face Eiffel Flats at Dzivaresekwa. A win for Mawiwi's charges will see them booking a ticket to play in the Premier Soccer League next term.

Mawiwi, a shrewd tactician will be hoping to guide Harare to the Premiership after having managed to lead Circle United in 2000 before guiding Gunners to the elite league in 2007.

"It's a tight race and we hope to win against Eiffel Flats. That will be a good victory for us because it will see us finishing on top and qualify. But it won't be easy to play against Eiffel Flats," said Mawiwi.
