As disciples of Christ we are to be free from sin. We need freedom from sin. That should be the desire of every believer.
How is this obtained? Romans 8:2 tells us that life in Christ Jesus sets us free from the law of sin and death.
What does this mean? It means Christ Himself is Freedom – for He is free from sin and death. The more of Christ Jesus we have, the more freedom from sin and death we have. Anyone living in Christ is free from the law of sin and death. So Christ is our freedom.
Those still living under sin and its dominion do not have the fullness of Christ. As He increases, so freedom from sin increases. So to gain true freedom we need to be filled with the fullness of Christ. He is freedom for He conquered sin and death.
