Gunners face FC Platinum in Mbada Cup showdown

FC Platinum, still smarting from a shock 2-1 defeat to Gunners in a Premier League match at the weekend, come face to face again with Gunners in the Mbada quarter-final cup at the Colliery Stadium in Hwange on Saturday.

The Premiership money bags this week vowed to revenge the defeat they suffered in a league tie last week. In an interview with The Zimbabwean, FC Platinum assistant coach Tendai Chikuni said they were out for revenge.

"We are meeting Gunners again. It will be tough but this time I am confident we will beat them. It's a neutral venue. We are meeting them in Hwange and we have been telling our players that we can not have excuses for losing this match. We have put last week's defeat behind us and are looking forward to a win. We want to play in the final of the Cup as well," said Chikuni.

FC Platinum were defeated 2-1 by Moses Chunga's Gunners after having raced into the lead through a Donald Ngoma strike. But Chunga's men fought back gallantly to emerge victorious.

FC Platinum are however, buoyed by the fact that they are still enjoying their place at the top of the league table and that alone has given the players reason to believe. In another quarter final clash Zimbabwe Saints take on Kiglon at Chishamiso Stadium in Hippo Valley.

Fixtures:
