MDC activist severely beaten

An MDC-T activist, Davison Munemo, of Village 5, Zaranyika village, was severely beaten up by Zanu (PF) thugs at Murewa Centre for attending Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s meeting with developmental projects last week Saturday.

He was grabbed by the thugs as he left a council board room where Tsvangirai had just held a meeting with stakeholders regarding the developmental projects.

“The Zanu (PF) thugs staged an ambush from their office along the corridor leading to the council boardroom. Munemo was one of the last people to leave the boardroom and was grabbed by the thugs as he passed the office. They beat him up and he sustained serious injuries,” said an MDC-T official in a telephone interview.

Suspected assailants were identified as Bornshacker Kahuni, Taurai Pasirayi, Mhuteyebani and Gladys Musingari, among others. A police report was made but no arrests had been made.

Hired Zanu (PF) thugs had earlier barred Tsvangirai from touring Murewa Centre Market Stalls.
