MDC performance in GNU just an appetiser: Chamisa

The excellent economic management demonstrated by the MDC-T in the Government of National Unity, was just an appetiser for better things to come once the party was in power, said the party’s National Organizer, Nelson Chamisa here last weekend.

“MDC initiatives in the GNU brought about economic stability and improved service delivery. Once MDC wins the next elections and takes over, we will exploit the country’s natural resources for the benefit of the whole nation – not just selected individuals,” said Chamisa. He also promised to create jobs.

“With an MDC administration in office, every company would display “WORK AVAILABLE” signs, as the economy would have stabilised with our investor friendly policies.”

He urged people to vote MDC as its young leadership had a vision for the country.

“Please do the aged and failed Zanu (PF) party leadership a favour by rejecting them at the polls, as this would give them the opportunity to rest with grandchildren at home. Honestly, how can one vote old people like Zanu (PF) imposed governor, Aenius Chigwedere, into office. It is high time Chigwedere goes home and take his snuff in peace. He no longer has any business in government and public life,” said Chamisa.

Zanu (PF) officials in their late 60s were still regarded as party youth members, he added.

He said it was encouraging to note that President Robert Mugabe respected Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai as the only leader capable of telling him the truth.

“Mugabe appreciated Tsvangirai’s frankness as he has told the aging president point blank that his political career was over and it was high time he went home to rest. Mugabe’s close associates would during the day urge him onto the political turf, while during the night and behind his back, they would suggest he be forced out of office”.
