Net One Boss in trouble

The Matabeleland Regional Account Manager, Douglas Mufunda, is reportedly under investigation for fraud and has been relieved of some of his key duties.

However, national assistant CID assistant spokesperson, Detective Assistant Inspector Portia Dadirai Chinho, said they had not yet received any report on the matter.

“At the moment we have not received any report on that matter, it is a possibility that the matter is still in other sections of the police force and is yet to come to CID,” she said.

Meanwhile Net One spokesperson, Rutendo Chabururuka, said he was not at liberty to discuss anything involving their employees with the media.

According to a press release published in the state-run Chronicle and Sunday Mail newspapers, Mufunda is no longer allowed to handle any company funds.

“To our valued NetOne private limited valued customers and dealers, please note that Mr Douglas Mufunda is not allowed to collect any money from NetOne dealers, customers and stakeholders with immediate effect, should anyone continue dealing with him NetOne will not be held liable,” reads the statement.

Godwin Chireka, an account manager, and Prosper Muvengwa, the corporate sales manager have taken on Mufunda’s duties.
