Politican slammed for striptease

A would-be Polish politician has been criticised by her own party for taking off her clothes in a raunchy election video.

Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) candidate Katarzyna Lenart stripped down to her bra in a bid to draw attention to her election campaign.

The 40-second video begins with 23-year-old Ms Lenart sitting in a chair wearing a respectable – albeit tight-fitting – black trouser suit.

But she then takes off her tie, which she throws at the camera, before standing up and taking off her jacket and shirt to reveal a pink bra.

As she takes off her bra, the word 'Censored' flashes across the screen, followed by the slogan: "Want more? Vote SLD. Only we can do more."

Ms Lenart, a political science student who is standing for the party in the city of Lublin, said: "I thought it was time to cause a stir.

"My campaign targets young people, and young people are only interested in controversial stuff, unfortunately."

But she ended up in trouble with party leaders who felt she had gone too far.

"Party political broadcasts like this should not exist," said SLD spokesman Tomasz Kalita.

"I don't think this sort of ad has its place in left-wing politics. We should be enacting a ban on sexist advertising."
