Born and bred in Plumtree, Allen now lives in Johannesburg where he has successfully instilled a strong level of pride and inspiration within the growing Zimbabwean youth.
As a child, Allen’s passion for music originated from a simple gallon guitar known as an ibhanjo which he made to sing and entertain the other boys whilst herding the cattle in the fields. This simple gesture is what ignited an unstoppable and magical career in the music industry.
He came to South Africa in 1996 where he released three solo albums called Isomiso, Umkhwekazi and Sibuyile which sold over 12 000 copies. Allen then went on to start his own band in 2000 called ‘Allen Ndoda and The Challengers’ of which he was the lead vocalist as well as lead guitarist.
To date, Allen has released 10 albums under his label “Waya-Waya”, with his latest release, the above mentioned, ‘Vul’vale”, proving to be a complete success. He has shared the stage with big names in the South African music industry, such as Liquideep, Big Nuz, and Rhythmic Elements. – Sencwa News Service
