The coach said in an interview on Monday that the stadium used by police outfit, Black Mambas, as their home ground was not fit to be used by the Premier Soccer League teams. He added that the Premier Soccer League management should seriously consider banning such stadiums.
Chitembwe said this after his team managed a 1-1 draw against Black Mambas in a league match at the weekend.
"The stadium is pathetic to say the least," said the CAPS United gaffer. "I think it should be condemned. The pitch is bumpy and is not up to standard. I noticed players struggled a lot when we played against Black Mambas at the weekend. I think the PSL should seriously look into this because players are struggling to express themselves under such conditions.”
The state of the country's biggest stadium, the National Sports Stadium, was also questioned by former Warriors coach Marc Duvillard when the Warriors played Mali in a crucial Group African Cup of Nations which Zimbabwe won 2-1. Duvillard took a swipe at the local authority for failing to maintain the pitch.Post published in: Football
