Harold Camping, 90, stated that Judgement Day would take place on May 21, when Jesus would return to Earth and the "righteous" would be taken up to Heaven.
Despite the fact that May 21 came and went, the US evangelist now claims that Friday, October 21, will be the actual Apocalypse.
Mr Camping, who runs Christian broadcast channel Family Radio, was reportedly "flabbergasted" when no one was "raptured" on that date.
However, he maintains that "God accomplished exactly what he wanted to happen" and that a "spiritual judgement" had occurred in May to make way for the "physical destruction" on Friday.
The modern-day Nostradamus uses numerology to the Bible to work out the supposed dates for the 'Rapture'.
He previously incorrectly predicted that the world would end on May 21, 1988, and again on September 6, 1994.
In the run-up to May 21 this year, Camping recruited dedicated followers, many of who quit their jobs, to help spread the word of Judgement Day, posting warnings on 2,000 billboards in the USA.
After the most recent failed prediction, Camping and his family fell silent and refused to comment, instead posting an 'explanation' on their website entitled 'What happened on May 21?'
