The Makuku bus was set on fire at the business centre where it was parked for the night. The bus plies the Bikita – Masvingo route and was the only reliable transport that was being used by the villagers. The matter was reported at Mashoko Police Station but a docket is yet to be opened and no arrests have been made. Hon. Varandeni said the arson attack was politically motivated but hoped the culprits would be brought to book.
Meanwhile, the bail application for Solomon Madzore, the MDC Youth Assembly chairperson failed to kick off at the High Court today after State prosecutor Edmore Nyazamba said he was “overwhelmed”. The hearing was postponed to Friday by Justice Hlekani Mwayera. Madzore is facing false charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View in May. He was arrested last week and was remanded in custody at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.
