Police said Jevas Mutsvatse (23) murdered Justin Benjamin (60) of Chikomwe village for asking him to pay back the $1 he owed his wife. Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Leonard Chabata, said the two were drinking beer together at Mutsvatse’s home when Benjamin asked his friend about the debt.
A verbal altercation ensured after Mutsvatse refused to re-pay the money. This spiralled out of control and let to Mutsvatsve strangling Benjamin to death.
