Governor booed out of church

Manicaland governor Chris Mushowe was booed at a church meeting in Marange district in Mutare West constituency recently when he tried to turn the event into a political rally.

Mushowe, who is very unpopular in the province for invading the Kondozi Farm and masterminding the death of illegal diamond panners in Chiadzwa, was told to back off by angry churchgoers after he tried to address the congregation about national healing and President Robert Mugabe’s power in the All Inclusive Government.

“I was sent by President Robert Mugabe to tell you about national healing and the inclusive government. Let us forgive each other and bury our political differences.”

Mushowe went on to say that he was also educating people about the inclusive government, which he said many rural communities were not completely familiar with.

However, church goers started heckling and booing him as he tried to take sides by showering President Mugabe with praises when he said: “President Mugabe is the head of state and government. He is in control.”

A visibly angry old woman shouted saying: “I lost my son to the Zanu (PF) thugs and he is now in the grave. So why should I listen to what he (Mushowe) is saying about national healing. Will my son get his life back if I forgive Zanu (PF)?”

The Pastor tried to cover up for Mushowe by urging the congregation to clap their hands after he delivered his speech, but only a few responded.
