The coal miners are now back in contention for the coveted league title and the three title chasers can now only under-estimate their capacity at their own peril.
Hwange now have 44 points from 27 matches, eight points adrift of leaders FC Platinum and five of second-placed Dynamos with only a point separating them. Third-placed Motor Action were held to 0-0 draw against Shooting Stars at Callies.
With only three matches left before end of the campaign, Tenant Chilumba's men, who have not lost a single match in the past six games, can now fancy their chances of a championship dream.
Chilumba said this week his charges would play their normal game in the countdown to the season’s end.
"We have a mathematical chance. We are underdogs in this race and I think that suits us fine. We have nothing to lose because all along nobody was talking about us in this race so we will continue to play our normal game and then see what happens," he said.Post published in: Football
