Toronto Old Peoples’ home is located about 20 km north of Mutare city centre.
Speaking at the handover ceremony last week, the organisation’s programme director, Ann Atkinson, said it was their chief priority to assist the less privileged in Africa societies.
Among the goods donated were blankets, towels, clothes, bed linen, pillowcases and food. Before the donation, members of the society led by Atkinson took time to clean the hostels and wash clothes in a show of gratitude for the aged.
Matron of the home, Doreen Mandikonza, expressed her appreciation for the donation.
