Jere not leaving

“I am not going anywhere” - this is the message from defiant Caps United vice president, Farai Jere, to the club’s supporters.

Makepekepe fans accused Jere of working against the club’s ambitions and want him out, but the administrator told The Zimbabwean that this would not happen. He also dismissed recent rumors that he had quit.

“People are misinformed. We are engaged in negotiations meant to balance our ship and it is not a big deal,” he said.

Jere accused “a few individuals” of having an agenda against him and blamed a recent verbal assault by the club’s fans on them.

“Only a few people, maybe the quarter of a bay often shout at me, but I am not bothered. Life goes on.” `

Some fans have declared war on him.

“Jere has failed. A club that keeps selling its key players cannot succeed and we hold him responsible,” fan, Andrew Moyo, said.

Jere joined Caps United as team manager in 2004 and was part of the Charles Mhlauri-led team that won back-to-back titles. He was later promoted to operations manager and later vice president. The club ended the 2011 season on sixth position.
