Big Boy Mawiwi's men beat Eiffel Flats 1-0 at Dzivaresekwa Stadium to win the Northern Region Division One race which secured them a place in the topflight league next season.
Mawiwi declared this week they won't be there in the Premier Soccer League to make up the numbers.
"I am really happy to win this title. I owe it to hard work and would like to also give credit to the players. They showed commitment throughout and I am confident we will be able to make a mark in the Premier League next year. We won't be there to make up the numbers but to fight for the title. It will not be easy but we will give it our best," said Mawiwi.
Premiership football will also return to Mutare following the promotion of army side Buffaloes from the Zifa Eastern Region Division One league over the weekend.
Buffaloes, who last had a flirtation with the PSL in 2000, beat Renco Mine 2-0 to confirm their return to the topflight league, while Quelaton booked their place a month ago from the Southern Region.
The Central Region is still to be decided. Mutare last had Premiership action in 2008 before Highway were relegated.Post published in: Football
