The MDC-T has resolved to launch a campaign to recommend the prosecution of senior Zanu (PF) officials, top uniformed force members and the senior Central Intelligence Operatives by the International Criminal Court.

“Members of the police and the security forces who are terrorising innocent Zimbabweans are aiding and abetting crimes. Therefore, they must be prosecuted for that. They are not different from these criminals and they should be arrested. We are doing this for the ordinary Zimbabweans who continue to suffer at the hands of these few selfish individuals,” said the MDC-T spokesperson, Douglas Mwonzora.

“Names of soldiers, senior Zanu (PF) officials, police officers and senior CIO members have been complied and are ready to be handed over to the International Criminal Court for prosecution.”

Following the bloody 2008 elections, the MDC, through the Director of Security at that time, Kisimisi Dhlamini, submitted a list of perpetrators of political violence to Attorney General Johannes Tomana and demanded their prosecution. Surprisingly, Dhlamini was instead arrested for the list.

Mwonzora also said that his party would be submitting a report to both SADC and the African Union so that their demands for urgent security sector reforms could be met.
