Mnangagwa who is also the Zanu (PF) Legal Affairs Secretary, told party supporters at a rally at Nyama Business Centre here that state apparatus has been strengthened to deal with the eventuality of any form of an uprising.

Recently Co-Home Affairs Minister Theresa Makone warned that the country risked plunging into Egypt-Style uprisings if Zanu (PF) continues to disregard the will of the majority.

However Mnangagwa said the international community will not detect what should be done in an event an uprising starts.

“Britain and America will obviously say go to church and pray when an uprising occurs in this country. But we will cast a deaf ear to that. The army and police have been strengthened to deal with such eventualities. We will not budge,” Mnangagwa said.

Following the fall of Lybian dictator Muammar Gaddafi, fears have increased that citizens may be influenced to take up arms and end President Robert Mugabe’s brutal three-decade rule.
