Money where your mouth is

People are putting their money where their mouth is in a new craze sweeping the internet.

Moneyfacing involves people placing a folded bank note in front of their face and taking a photo to create a hybrid face. Facebook groups dedicated to the craze have been created and internet forums have popped up containing hundreds of photos.

People have posed with banknotes in countries all over the world, including Canada, Chile, America and of course the UK. One user who posted a picture of himself with the Queen's face on a £5 note wrote: "I'm not sure how proud Liz would be if she saw this, but I think I wear the crown rather well.”

Another, who posed as Charles Darwin on £10 note, wrote: "I'd like to think this is how Darwin's descendants will one day evolve. I've never had a beard before, but might have to grow one know that I've seen how well Darwin's looks on me."

The stunt is believed to be an offshoot of a similar internet phenomenon, Sleeving, where people pose for photos with vinyl album covers in front of their face.
