Kay urged Mayor Farai Nyandoro to ensure that no corruption crept into the council stand allocation exercise.
“Mayor, do everything possible to ensure that the housing waiting list is properly documented and that stands are allocated on a first come first served basis. We do not want a situation whereby people from outside the district are corruptly allocated stands at the expense of deserving people on the housing waiting list. Every home seeker should be treated the same without bias. The MDC should run things differently from the corrupt practices of Zanu (PF),” said Kay.
The MP was touring council and developmental projects in the constituency. The housing project is expected to cover land in Hunyani and Ruzawi. The council is already seeking suitable land developers through the tender procedure.
