State scuttles Madzore’s bail application yet again

Edmore Nyazamba, a State prosecutor, today failed to appear at the High Court for Solomon Madzore, the MDC Youth Assembly Chairperson’s bail application forcing High Court judge, Justice Hlekani Mwayera to defer the matter to Tuesday, 22 November. This is the third time that the matter has been postponed this week.

Madzore is part of 28 MDC members who are facing trumped-up charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View, Harare in May.

Nyazamba at the start of the bail hearing on Wednesday appealed for more time to present his submissions. After presenting his submissions yesterday, the matter was postponed to today but Nyazamba failed to turn up at the High Court claiming that he was attending a funeral.

Madzore’s lawyer, Gift Mtisi raised serious concerns over the continued postponement of the bail application as it is seriously affecting his client.
