Thieves’ car breaks down

Two women who stole £400 worth of alcohol from a supermarket were arrested after their getaway car ran out of fuel.

The pair were caught on CCTV pushing their car to a nearby filling station, reports the Daily Telegraph. They were all set to leave with their haul after their shoplifting raid on Asda in Chadderton, Greater Manchester. But the hapless pair ran out of luck, and fuel, when they could not get their blue Citroen to start.

They were caught in the act by police four months later when they targeted another Asda store in Hulme in a similar way.
