Trial of ZINASU leader and five others postponed

One Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) student leader, Welcome Zimuto and five other Civic Society activists, Munyaradzi Gwisai, Hopewell Gumbo, Antoneta Choto, Tatenda Mombeyarara and Edson Chakuma appeared before a Harare Regional Magistrate, today the 29th of November facing charges of Conspiracy to commit public violence as defined in section 188 as read with section 36 of the Criminal Law (codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23].The charges emanated from a member’s meeting

Today trial failed to take off after both the state prosecutor and the state witness failed to turn up. The matter was postponed to the 6th of December 2011. Meanwhile the accused defense council Aleck Muchadehama has notified his intention to apply for the removal of restrictive bail conditions should no progress be made on the next date of appearance.
