Warriors squad named

Warriors team manager, Shariff Mussa announced a 20-man squad that will play South Africa in a friendly slated for next Wednesday.

There were not many changes to the squad but skipper Method Mwanjali, fingered in the Asiagate scandal was the notable absentee together with Edward Sadomba who picked a shoulder injury in Cape Verde.

Warriors coach Norman Mapeza said the friendly match against Bafana Bafana offered him an opportunity to try players like Amazulu’s Ramson Zhuwawo and Kaizer Chiefs’ Lincoln Zvasiya.

Local players expected to prove their mettle include the Dynamos quartet of goalkeeper Washington Arubi, Archford Gutu, Denver Mukamba and Cuthbut Malajilaas well as Daniel Vheremu of FC Platinum and Caps United’s Tapuwa Khumbuyani Mapeza said he chose players that will play a key role in the 2013 Afcon and 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
