Young team to take on Kenya

Warriors coach, Norman Mapeza, has picked a largely youthful squad to take Kenya on tomorrow in the CECAFA tournament, as part of Zimbabwe's preparations for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and 2014 World Cup.

The Warriors gaffer has left out the Dynamos and Motor Action players who will be playing in the Mbada Diamonds Cup final today. He has kept faith in the youngsters who are in the in the Under-23 team and a few experienced players including FC Platinum Daniel Vheremu.

The absence of Motor Action coach and Mapeza's assistant, Joey Antipas, has opened the door for the Highlanders coach, Mkhupali Masuku, to travel with the team to Tanzania.

Zimbabwe will play Kenya on Monday before meeting Sudan two days later and finish the group stages with a match against Ethiopia. At the end of the preliminaries, two teams from each group will advance to the quarter finals to be joined by the two best runners-up to make eight teams.

Defence: Tapiwa Khumbuyani, Tinashe Masika, Qadr Amini, Daniel Vheremu, Honest Moyo

Midfielders: Rahman Kutsanzira, Abbas Amidu, James Jam, Joel Ngodzo, Cliff Sekete, Ntokozo Tshuma, Timire Mamvura, Erick Mudzingwa

Strikers: Donald Ngoma, Leonard Fiyado, Charles Sibanda, Tongai Magwendere.
