Sonnieboy who has since sought shelter in Harare said the Zanu PF youths led by one Percy Chiwashira burnt down Sonnieboy’s hut during the night.
Sonnieboy managed to identify Chiwashira and made a report at Centenary Police Station but no arrests have been made.
Chiwashira had in October filed a false report at the same police station claiming that Sonnieboy had assaulted him. He was arrested and was remanded on free bail at the Guruve Magistrate’s Court to 7 December.
Meanwhile, Boniface Kudakwashe Muchemwa, an MDC youth in Zengeza, Chitungwiza was yesterday denied bail at the Chitungwiza Magistrates’ Courts on false charges of attacking Zanu PF supporters at Chibuku Stadium last Sunday.
Zanu PF youths on Sunday morning disrupted and attacked MDC members who were organising the rally at Chibuku Stadium. The rally at which President Tsvangirai was to be the main speaker was later cancelled as the Party’s PA system was vandalised and other crucial elements such as a mixer were stolen, while dozens of the organisers had to be ferried to hospital.
However, no Zanu PF youth has been arrested although they were clearly the offending group, whose members were identified and reported to the police.
The magistrate remanded Muchemwa to November 21 but his lawyer, Gift Mtisi said he would appeal against the magistrate’s ruling.
