ZESA gets red card

Irate resettled farmers, who benefited from President Robert Mugabe’s infamous land reform programme, have said that they will give the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority a red card for poor service.

The farmers told The Zimbabwean last week that they would be meeting ZESA officials next week to grill the officials on their failure to provide electricity. The farmers said they had gone for about two months without adequate electricity, which has resulted in them delaying this year’s farming preparations.

“We will be meeting with some ZESA officials next week where we will be looking at the issue of power outages. The situation is critical,” said a farmer.
