FC Platinum pushes standards

PSL championship runners-up, FC Platinum, have embarked on a project to spruce up their home ground, Mandava Stadium, in a bid to meet Caf standards.

The team, which won the ticket of participating in the prestigious continental league, is also expected to meet this week’s deadline of registering players. Fears have been rife that the team’s ground will be ruled out by Caf owing to its small sitting capacity and dilapidated facilities.

Club President Nathan Shoko said: “We are on top of the situation and not at all under any pressure. We are certain the work we are doing at our home ground will have been completed before Caf inspectors come.”

He added that the technical side was also in the process of completing an exercise of scouting for players in the domestic scene to strengthen their campaign for the championship.
