The Mighty Bulls qualified for the tournament after making the final of the Mbada Diamonds Cup last Sunday. They lost 1-0 to Dynamos, but enter the continental safari after the champions chose to play in the more lucrative Champions League.
Participation will see them get the $ 150 000 set aside by Mbada Diamonds for the team that represents the country in the tournament. Coach Joey Antipas revealed that the Harare giants were scouting for players.
“We need to beef up our strike force, but I cannot reveal any names at the moment because we are still negotiating with the players,” said Antipas.
He blamed the team’s impotent strike force for their third finish in the league, behind Dynamos and new-boys, FC Platinum.
“Our players will be back in camp just after the festive season. We need good preparation if we are to make a mark at this level of the game,” he added.
This will be the second time in two seasons for the Harare side to be involved in continental football. They failed to reach the mini-league last season, after they won the domestic league title.Post published in: Football
